Social Connectedness Profiles and Psychological Distress Among Adolescents in Summer Care Programs: A Cluster Analysis Approach

Abstract

This longitudinal applied research brief examined adolescent social connectedness profiles (peer and adult) in a 10-week summer care program (n=47) and their association with psychological distress (K10). Two profiles emerged—“baseline bonders” and “strong socializers”—and a significant time-by-profile interaction indicated differential changes in distress across summer.
