Rural Patients’ Perceived Importance of Racial and Ethnic Concordance With Providers and Receipt of Annual Routine Visits

Abstract

Online survey of rural U.S. adults (N=166): high distrust in providers linked to seeing racial/ethnic concordance as important (OR≈9.18) and to no routine visit in past year (OR≈3.35). Hispanic identity associated with higher importance of concordance (OR≈10.87) and higher odds of no routine visit (OR≈9.22).
