Understanding Longitudinal Ecological Momentary Assessment Completion: Results From 12 Months of Burst Sampling in the TIME Study

Abstract

Young adults (N=246; analytic n=207) completed EMA prompts during 26 biweekly 4-day bursts over 12 months. Overall completion averaged 77%. Completion odds were higher when the phone screen was on and at home; lower with short sleep, traveling, at shops/restaurants or sport places, during night, and as months progressed. Hispanic ethnicity and employment predicted lower completion; interactions showed changing effects over time.
